We offer a varied blend of services to make your home beautiful. The Room Designer brings creative and imaginative ideas, expertise & techniques to transform your space while keeping your specific budget in mind.
Many of our clients are simply looking for advise & decorating guidance... The Room Designer will happily tackle whatever is too much for you to handle yourself. We speak over the phone to discuss your decorating struggles, and set up a time to meet at your home for a design or home staging consultation. We charge an In-House hourly rate of $75 per hour. ($50 hr. for shopping)
Oftentimes, this is all a client needs! One or two hours to gain inspiration and receive creative direction to start their decorating, remodeling or home staging projects.
Other clients need The Room Designer to physically stage, accessorize, move around furnishings or hang artwork... even shop for you! We will tackle whatever is too much for you to comfortably do yourself! In a nutshell... we offer hourly consultations or can create combo packages for larger decorating projects to accommodate you!
Our Virtual E-Decorating allows you to benefit from our creative services remotely from other locations and is great for those who want to "see" rooms before they decorate or purchase a thing!
How We Work
Denise Lough is a professional Interior Stylist,
Interior Decorator, Organizer & Home Stager located
in New Lenox, IL who works in the surrounding
suburbs of Chicago.
She has been described by her clients as extremely approachable, friendly and casual in her approach to decorating, organizing and working with people.
Denise's passion for interior decorating and design inspired her to start her business, The Room Designer, thus utilizing her innate artistic talents and eye for design, proportion, color and scale in the field of decorating, home staging and redesign.
She is a talented bargain hunter and loves to hunt antique stores & flea markets for unique furnishings and accessories... She embraces those "unique" pieces that truly make a house a home and add character.
Denise is the complete opposite of the "Fancy-Decorator-Type". She is very relaxed and casual in her decorating style and manner and is extremely organized, practical and has an honest approach to her business. She is thrilled to see the amazing things that can be accomplished in just a few hours time while using what the clients already own! The big payoff for her, is the wonderful reactions on her clients' faces when they see their rooms transformed!
Denise has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northern Illinois University and in her past life, was a Commercial Graphic Designer in the Advertising Field for over 20 years. She has completed numerous college Interior Design courses including Computer Aided Drafting and has successfully completed the training for InteriorStylist.org certification.
She is proficient in the computer program, Photoshop, which enables her to give her clients a computer preview of their rooms (virtual decorating) to assist them in visualizing ideas for paint colors, window treatments, furnishings & art, before the work is done. This is a service very few designers can offer.
