I have always had an aching desire to live by the beach! Until I can fulfill that dream I've decided to add a splash of coastal charm to my home...
simply because it gives me so much pleasure!  Being in your home should bring you joy!  The trick to highly personal interior is to use inspired accessories,  colors & art that speak to YOU and what you love!  Vintage items and hand picked pieces & those inspired by nature
add character & lend themselves to a unique decor.  I'm a hunter gatherer, so I look everywhere for furnishings.
Things don't have to be expensive to be beautiful!   Get inspired & see what I've done at home!

Hints for Designing an amazing

Beach House

This is a Beach home I decorated in Union Pier, Michigan!

The home was already painted and the finishes had been picked when the owners contacted me to help them fill the entire home with furniture, art, accessories, window

treatments, rugs & more!! It was completely empty!

We had a limited budget to work with, and did our best to create a charming beach home without spending much.

We shopped at thrift stores, consignment stores, Homegoods, Pier One, Steinmart & Hobby Lobby. Most of the furniture was from Ashley Furniture and consignment stores!

This is a weekend home for the family and is also for rent!

It sleeps 10-12 and has a full laundry and 2 master bedroom suites! Contact me if you are interested in renting this Lake Michigan getaway just steps from the beach!

Must haves for beach decor:

Shells (obviously), beach glass, wicker/rattan, oars, glass floats, vintage blue bottles, paint color palette in blues, aquas, yellows, white, tans & soft greens, beach pictures and books, nautical fabrics, driftwood, sea sponges, sand, shovels, rope & more...see below for pix from my own "beach" home....
